Power Quality Testing & Monitoring

Equipment tripping? Flickering lights? Unexplained shutdowns?

We measure what is happening, explain the findings and help you resolve electrical supply and equipment issues.

Independent engineering support across Brisbane and Queensland.

Energex power quality measurements & reports

We provide independent Energex power quality measurements and reports for commercial and industrial solar PV and battery energy storage systems.

Our assessments support connection requirements, baseline monitoring and post-commissioning verification against the applicable Energex requirements and project connection conditions.

Measure. Explain. Help resolve.

Measure: voltage disturbances, harmonics, flicker, imbalance, power factor and energy use.

Explain: a written engineering report and a clear discussion of the findings.

Help resolve: practical recommendations, further investigation and support with corrective action.

Catch the problem when it happens

Short-term testing or longer-term logging, using our Fluke 1775 and other measurement instruments. Where equipment and site connections support it, remote access lets us review recorded events without another site visit.

More about power quality measurement

Power quality measurements help investigate voltage dips and swells, interruptions, harmonic distortion, voltage imbalance, flicker and unexplained equipment trips. Energy Engineers provides independent power quality testing, electrical energy measurement and monitoring for commercial and industrial facilities in Brisbane, South East Queensland and across Queensland.

For Energex-connected installations, monitoring can support supply investigations, baseline assessments and post-commissioning verification. We establish the applicable Energex power quality requirements and connection conditions for each project and can help explain the evidence to network providers, equipment suppliers and contractors.

Our equipment includes a Fluke 1775 power quality analyser, alongside other instruments for electrical testing, energy consumption, demand and load-profile measurements.

Energy Engineers is independent of Fluke. In our engineering judgement, Fluke power quality analysers are among the best equipment available. We are also happy to help configure clients’ own measurement equipment and analyse data they have already recorded, subject to the equipment’s capabilities and the quality and completeness of the data.

Depending on scope, assessment references may include IEC/AS/NZS 61000-4-30, 61000-4-7 and 61000-4-15, with IEEE 519 or EN 50160 used where appropriate. The criteria are selected for the installation; these references do not replace applicable Australian network requirements.

Every engagement includes a written report covering the agreed measurements, findings and recommended actions. We explain the situation to the client and help define the next steps. Remote logging, event review and response arrangements are agreed to suit the equipment and site.
